The game will begin on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026. Each year, the stakes get higher, the clues are sharper and the prizes better than ever. With over $800 in total value, only a few will walk away victorious. This is the 7th Annual Hidden Gems Easter Egg Hunt.

If you’re new here, this is how it works. From April 2nd-4th, we will be hiding six golden eggs throughout Chico. Two eggs will be released each day—no extras, no decoys. Each egg comes with its own set of clues, revealed only on our socials. Clues will come in two forms: words and photos. Follow closely, think critically, and move quickly.

Winning Prizes
Every golden egg will be filled with a $100 Upper Park gift card and an assortment of Upper Park goods. Each day we'll include a special guest prize from some of Chico's finest establishments.
This year we have special guest prizes from Farmers Brewing, Lovebird Coffee Co., Stoble Coffee Roasters, Northern Star Mills, Beyond Golf, Hatchet Hangout and The Commons Social Empourium.
A Few Precautions
Leave It Better Than You Found It
Pack your trash! If you see some trash do your neighbor a favor and pick it up. A clean park is a beautiful park.
Try Not To Trample
The wild flowers and plants are happier without feet crushing them. Please be mindful of your steps when veering away from the trails.
Watch for Snakes
We'll do our best to not hide the eggs in snake territory, but these little critters can pop up. Remember that this is a natural habitat for many types wildlife, so please watch your step.
Lookout for Poison Oak
It's the golden rule, "leaves of three, let it be." Just so you know, we won't be hiding our eggs in any poison oak patches. However you'll find these little plant in a lot of places.
Hunt Respectfully
